Creating the Extraordinary Student Experience

Say What!? Understanding Microaggressions in Everyday Life (DICE)

Time: Monday, October 2, 2017 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Location: Multicultural Center Alonso Family Room

This workshop will explore several examples of microaggressions using material from "35 Dumb Things Well-Intended People Say that Widen the Diversity Gap" by Dr. Maura Cullen. This session deeply explores the concept of intent vs. impact and how to hold ourselves accountable when we say something hurtful. There will be large and small group discussions, videos, and an opportunity for participants to provide further examples.

We have a limited number of seats available in this program. Because this program is part of the First Year Success Series offerings, priority will be given to students who pre-registered for the event through First Year Experience.

This event also counts for 1 DICE Credit toward your DICE Certificate. More information about DICE and how to earn credits can be found here:
