This is an interactive workshop that gives participants basic strategies to “speak up” during incidents of bias and covers quick easy tips for holding others accountable for their words and actions. The material from this presentation is primarily drawn from the publication "Speak Up at School: How to Repond to Everyday Prejudice, Bias, and Stereotypes" by Teaching Tolerance, a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
We have a limited number of seats available in this program. Because this program is part of the First Year Success Series offerings, priority will be given to students who pre-registered for the event through First Year Experience.
This event also counts for 1 DICE Credit toward your DICE Certificate. More information about DICE and how to earn credits can be found here: go.osu.edu/dice.
