The Multicultural Center is happy to be hosting the
7th Annual Queer Family HoliGay Dinner!
Whatever the time of year may be, family holiday gatherings are always an adventure! You know the old saying "you can't go home again." Well you can go home, but most likely you are not the same person you were when you left. You have probably grown and matured, established new friendships, and experienced many freedoms that come with being out and away from home.
Maybe your family is completely open and accepting of your LGBTQ identity, and is looking forward to hearing more about your personal discoveries. Maybe the holidays remind us that our family dynamics have not always gone the way we imagined....or, we are unsure of how to talk about our identity and life with our families. That's never easy. And, you're not the only one feeling this way!
No matter what your feelings or experiences are with the upcoming holidays, Come OUT and join us for Queer Family Holigay Dinner...family of origin or family of choice!
We will reminisce together about past holidays shared with family or friends. Explore what each of us is thankful for, and share what holidays were like when we were younger, and talk about the traditions our families have, and discuss what kinds of traditions we'd like to continue as we grow older.
The Queer Family Holigay Dinner is your chance to have a gay ol' time connecting with friends old and new, rehashing old memories and creating new ones through our own unique celebration. After all, 'tis the very season to be gay. All the songs even say so. Hope to see you there!
This event is open to all LGBTQ and Allied students. RSVP INFORMATION COMING SOON!
