Search

Time: Tuesday, February 07, 2017 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Location: Ohio Union Multicultural Center Alonso Family Room

Currently America is not unified; instead it’s several groups of people who are divided. To begin change you must be willing to open the floor to discussion. Civil racism is prevalent in America yet no one wants to talk about it. Tonight, we will be discussing the relationship between the Asian/Asian American community and the African American community. Dr. Lynn Itagaki will be speaking about her views behind the relationship between the two communities and how the actions of the Asian American community affect the relationship between Caucasians and African Americans. She is a coordinator for the Asian American Studies Program and the author of Civil Racism: The 1992 Los Angeles Rebellion and the Crisis of Racial Burnout.

This event also counts toward your DICE Certificate (H&A) so be sure bring your DICE card or stop by the MCC to pick one up. More information about DICE can be found here: go.osu.edu/dice.
