The Student Life Multicultural Center’s Social Justice Engagement and American Indian and Indigenous Student Initiatives are collaborating to bring you as special screening of DAWNLAND by Adam Mazo and Ben Pender-Cudlip. Part of the Indie Lens Pop Up Series, this film tells the story of the first government-sanctioned truth and reconciliation commission in the U.S., investigating the devastating impact of Maine’s child welfare practices on Native American communities.
After the film we will examine how truth and reconciliation commissions, and other models of this type function as part of Socially Just Leadership.
