Time: Monday, February 12, 2018 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Location: Multicultural Center Alonso Family Room
As a part of United Black World Month, join us for a screening of "Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and Universities," which explores the pivotal role historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) have played over the course of 150 years in American history, culture, and identity. Stanley Nelson's film reveals the rich history of HBCUs and the power of higher education to transform lives and advance civil rights and equality in the face of injustice.
Indie Lens Pop Up is part of the Alonso Family Dialogue Series hosted by the Social Justice Engagement team in the Student Life Multicultural Center. This screening is made possible by a partnership with Indie Lens Pop Up, an affiliate of PBS and part of the Independent Lens series. A discussion will take place after watching the film.
This event also counts for 1 DICE Credit toward your DICE Certificate. More information about DICE and how to earn credits can be found here: go.osu.edu/dice.
