As a part of Women's History Month, join Intercultural Specialist Melissa Beard Jacob for a presentation on the life and activism of Zitkala-Sa. Zitkala-Sa, which translates to Red Bird in English, was born in 1876 on the Yankton Indian Reservation in South Dakota. As a Native American writer, teacher and activist, Zitkala-Sa dedicated her life to advocating for civil rights of Native American people until her death in 1938.
