Search

Time: Tuesday, January 22, 2019 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Location: Jennings Hall, Rm 40

Sexual assault impacts all of us, we are likely to know and care about someone affected. Knowing how to be a supportive co-survivor is critical to creating a community where violence is not tolerated and all survivors are safe to come forward and receive trauma-informed support.

Students will develop the skills to support survivors if they disclose an assault to them and how to get share resources survivors need to recover. We will also touch on what it means to be “trauma-informed,” the difference between a stressor and a trigger, and what secondary trauma means. Students will be equipped with the information and resources they need to feel confident to help a friend or family member touched by sexual violence, and to hold others in the community accountable for doing the same.

Sponsored by The OhioHealth Sexual Assault Response Network of Central (SARNCO)
