This group is dedicated to providing a space for women of color student to connect, dialogue, celebrate, and support each other’s whole authentic selves through an intersectional lens. Our monthly meetings will center on a specific topic, issue, or current event that students wish to learn more about or process openly with their peers. The intent is to foster intercultural dialogue and to create a brave space where students can share their unique perspectives and create a community of solidarity, support and affirmation. We define the term Women of Color as the following:
“All women who identify as one or multiple marginalized racial or ethnic identities. It is a political designation, not based on biological, phenotypical, or genetic factors. The origins of the term were born out of the anti-violence against women movement and created at the 1977 National Women’s Conference. It is a term dedicated to solidarity and a commitment to work in collaboration with other oppressed women of color who have been minoritized.”
We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. To ask questions about accessibility or request accommodations, please contact Madison Eagle at 614-688-8449 or email@example.com. At least two weeks' advance notice will help us to provide seamless access.
