United Black World Month
The Multicultural Center sponsors the annual United Black World Month events held throughout February each year.
The Multicultural Center along with many departmental offices and student organizations across campus annually celebrates a theme of the African American experience, announced in late Autumn term. United Black World Month, also known as Black History Month, is a month-long celebration of the diasporic experience. The month begins with a featured speaker and continues with panels, lectures, socials, and other types of programs.

The performance is a groundbreaking one-man performance written and performed by spoken-word phenomena, Kraal "Kayo" Charles. In this semi-autobiographical piece, Kayo uses poetry and hip hop to explore what happens when a rising artist-entrepreneur is suddenly faced with impending fatherhood. With humor and honesty, Kayo conveys the complexities of a man caught between embracing and rejecting his newest and greatest role.
