cleaning supplies\, food\, \;and above all else\, toilet paper. Incre
asing just as quickly is xenophobia\, which is a fear\, prejudice or hatr
ed of people from other countries. \;Unfortunately\, throughout histo
ry\, \;fear of disease \;and racism have gone hand in hand.\n&nbs
p\;\nIn the \;months \;since COVID-19 has been circulating\, Asia
n-Americans and Asians around the world have experienced heightened level
s of verbal and physical aggression. Websites\, multiple media outlets an
d an overwhelming amount of social media has contributed to what some&nbs
p\;experts care calling an info-demic: widespread sharing of misinformati
on and misunderstanding of the facts.\n \;\nThe MCC is \;hosting
a community conversation about the impact COVID-19 is having on Asian/Asi
an American communities in this country and abroad. \;We'll begin by
discussing \;this \;NPR podcast \;and article \;featuring
 \;Erika Lee\, a historian at the University of Minnesota who studies
history\, immigration and epidemics. \;Please listen to this ahead o
f time. \;Our dialogue will then shift to raising awareness of the wa
ys that unconscious (or conscious) bias is impacting our APIDA friends\,
loved ones and colleagues.\n \;\nJoin us in community as we address t
his important facet of the COVID-19 pandemic and \;formulate ways tha
t we can each play a role in interrupting bias and creating safe and incl
