DICE Certificate Program

The Diversity, Intercultural and Community Engagement (DICE) Certificate Program through the Center for Belonging and Social Change is for students interested in exploring diversity, intercultural engagement and socially just leadership.The DICE certification is a great way to demonstrate a vested interest in diversity and intercultural engagement to future schools and employers!

You can receive credits for the DICE certificate by engaging in a variety of programs including cultural events, Student Education and Empowerment Workshops related to equity and inclusion, signature CBSC programming, approved service projects and/or diversity leadership retreats.

DICE is a largely self-guided experience for Ohio State students. You choose the events and complete the reflections based on your own schedule. You need to complete 12 credits in 1 academic year in order to receive a DICE Certificate.

Credit = 1 program/workshop + a 125 word reflection

DICE = 12 Credits in 1 Academic Year.

Registration for 2023-2024 is open. Register here.

After you have signed up through our system, you will receive a confirmation email from our DICE Program Coordinator. You will be enrolled in the DICE Carmen course where you can submit your reflections, track your progress and complete the program. If you are a member of one of our DICE program partners, please be sure to select your program when you register.

Program Details

DICE points can be earned 1, 2 or 3 points at a time. The DICE Program Overview provides details about how these points are earned. You will have a 2 week window to submit reflections after attending programs.

For the 2022-2023 school year, your DICE credits must be earned and turned in by April 7, 2024.

DICE Partnerships

Student Education and Empowerment partners with several programs across Ohio State both to collaborate on producing DICE programs, and to engage student leaders in our DICE certification process. If you are a staff or faculty member interested in creating tailored DICE requirements for a student group or population you work with, please contact Cerelia Bizzell.

DICE-Certified Programs

Programs and events must be DICE-certified to count towards your DICE certificate. You can find DICE-approved programs by visiting our CBSC Calendar. Otherwise, you will see upcoming DICE events in the announcement section on the DICE Carmen page. DICE offers flexible, fun and experiential trainings, as well as a wide range of opportunities to explore cultural difference!

Campus partners producing a program related to social justice, bias reduction and prevention, intercultural engagement or another closely related event may request DICE Certification and a listing on the DICE page. Send us an email with your program information within 3 weeks prior the event.
