Location: Everglades, FL
This introductory sea kayaking course is an experiential, field-based, excursion, focusing on the basic skills necessary to live out of a sea kayak and navigate between islands in a marine environment. Skill progression, equipment selection, terminology, and potential risks are all introduced as foundational skills for sea kayaking. Camp on white sand beaches, paddle with dolphins, and soak up the culture and sunshine of Florida's most primitive coast. We will paddle from island to island while learning about marine estuaries and the mangroves that influence the complex ecosystem known as the Everglades.
