Yuri Kochiyama. Richard Aoki. Grace Lee Boggs. Do you know these APIDA activists’ names? If you answered “no”, you are not alone. APIDA activism has long been overlooked and/or ignored throughout our nation’s history. This erasure often leads us to assume that there is no desire for activism in the APIDA community when, in fact, the APIDA activist community has strong roots that continue to deepen through present-day APIDA individuals and organizations.

The Multicultural Center’s Social Justice Engagement team invites you to explore the significance of this activist community in APIDA Activism 101, an APIDA heritage month event that will highlight the history of APIDA activism. From the present-day and historical solidarity between the APIDA community and other minoritized communities, to learning how to sustain activism within communities of color, we invite you to join us, learn more, and be inspired by the APIDA activist community!

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. To ask questions about accessibility or request accommodations, please contact Sophia Antoun at 614-688-8449 or antoun.5@osu.edu. At least two weeks' advance notice will help us to provide seamless access.

This event also counts for 1 DICE Credit toward your DICE Certificate. More information about DICE and how to earn credits can be found here: go.osu.edu/dice.
