Online classes may be new for many of us, but being required to complete school, work leisure and physical activity remotely during a pandemic is unprecedented for all of us! Ohio governor Mike DeWine issued a "Stay at Home" order for all Ohio residents, and many other states are following in suit, limiting our ability to leave our places of residence and requiring us to move our academic and personal pursuits online and inside. Creating structure in our day seems more important than ever, as it is now easier than ever to binge watch our favorite television series and get lost in the happy distractions of our phones.
Please join the MCC and guest presenter Chelsea Varnum, M.Ed. for "Creating Structure While Staying Home," an event dedicated to hearing from Ohio State students about what structure looks like to you and how to create it for yourself during this strange, scary and all around uncertain time. Chelsea is sex educator and currently works at Planned Parenthood to support a national peer education program. As an extrovert that works from home, she has worked hard to develop systems and structure that support success and is actively helping others do the same as the nation responds to COVID-19. Chelsea will leading us through a discussion on the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has on human stress levels and why this impact can cause a barrier to creating structure throughout our days. From there, we'll hear from participants on what things have and have not been working for you, and we'll offer different resources for creating structure on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Let's support each other through this and find new ways of achieving our same goals and aspirations.
