Undocumented students and students in mixed immigration status families:
Your humanity matters,
You are welcomed here,
You are resilient,
You have a community at The Ohio State University

The Ohio State University welcomes students who have DACA status, are undocumented, or have undocumented family members to our diverse educational community. We are committed to providing support for all of our students so that they may focus on the pursuit of their education while at The Ohio State University. We recognize the unique obstacles that these students and their families may encounter in pursuing their college education. The Ohio State University strives to ensure that our students successfully navigate the university experience.

Your central resource for any DACA and undocumented related questions or concerns is Indra Leyva Cook and she can be reached at leyvacook.1@osu.edu. All undocumented and DACA students at the The Ohio State University are encouraged to have a one-on-one meeting with Indra. She is your primary contact for questions regarding enrollment and financial. Ms. Leyva Cook is also available to provide support, advocacy and coaching to facilitate a successful undergraduate, graduate or professional school experience while you are at The Ohio State University.

UPDATE: On December 4, 2022 a federal judge has reversed the latest round of rules that placed further limits on DACA. Judge Nicholas Garaufis of the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn instructed the Department of Homeland Security to begin accepting new applications for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program as soon as Monday, December 7.

In this ruling the terms of this federal program must be immediately restored to what they were in August of 2017. The judge also instructed officials to reinstate two-year permits for qualifying applicants. During this past summer, a policy was established that changed the term of the permits to only one year.

For more information about DACA you can find an overview of it on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website.
